In short: invoices and other documents made with MakeMeABill are templates you fill in. They are not checked by us, and they are not guaranteed to meet the legal or tax requirements where you or your customer are based. Check every document before you send it.
Documents are templates
MakeMeABill provides layouts and calculations to help you produce invoices and similar documents quickly. What appears on a document is what you enter. We don’t review, verify or store your documents, and we can’t confirm that a document is correct, complete or suitable for any purpose.
Check accuracy before you send
Before sending or relying on a document, check in particular:
- your business details, your customer’s details and any tax registration numbers;
- the invoice number, issue date, due date and any purchase order reference;
- descriptions, quantities, prices, discounts and additional charges;
- tax rates and the tax treatment of each line, which you choose yourself. The generator doesn’t look up or verify tax rates;
- totals, currency, amounts already paid and the balance due;
- payment instructions and bank details.
Totals are calculated with care, using exact decimal arithmetic and rounding to each currency’s smallest unit. Some businesses or authorities round differently, so compare the totals with your own records.
Local tax and invoicing requirements
Rules for invoices and other business documents vary by country, region, industry and type of transaction. Depending on your situation, they may require:
- specific wording, such as “Tax Invoice”, or particular mandatory details;
- an unbroken sequence of invoice numbers;
- amounts or tax shown in a particular currency, with an exchange rate;
- a particular language or script;
- an electronic invoice in a structured format, submitted through an approved system, instead of or as well as a PDF;
- keeping copies of documents for a minimum period.
Presets, such as the UAE tax invoice preset, and the guidance on our website only set common starting points. They don’t guarantee compliance and may not reflect the latest rules. You are responsible for checking the requirements that apply to you. Please consult your tax authority or a qualified accountant or lawyer if you are unsure.
